Fast
track construction had to be employed for these corporate offices. The
owner wanted the reception area to make a bold statement, provide maximum
security, and be relatively inexpensive.
We suggested that stained plywood would be an appropriate material to fit all of the above needs. Playing off the angle of the exterior intersection of Broadway and 21 Street, we created three plywood walls to serve three functions, linked by glass panels. The first wall was the signage wall which displayed the name and logo of the client. The second was the entrance wall which contained the front door. The third contained a pass-through for messengers to deliver packages to the receptionist. Form definitely follows function in this reception area. |
