The Frick Collection

Because the interiors of this premier museum are part of its collection, any restoration of furnishings must be carried out with the utmost attention to detail.

When replacing the under curtains and silk shades of the main galleries, the existing hardware was restored and the shades constructed exactly as they would have been originally. Although the silk faille curtains of the second floor offices were constructed very simply, the curator was willing to wait for nine months while we had the exact shade of silk specially woven in France. And when the drapery in the Boucher Room needed refurbishing, we were turned to again. Here the elaborate trims were carefully removed and the panels reversed after cleaning and removal of damaged areas. The trim was then hand-sewn onto the new lead edge and the drapes were hung again.

These are just some of the lengths to which Wagner Van Dam will go to insure your project is installed correctly according to specifications.
